Lanzarote is situated in the easternmost part of the Canary Islands. The island's name in the native language used to be Titerroygatra, which means "the red mountains".

The Canary Islands offer travellers the opportunity to experience the famous Flamenco dancing first hand, the long lazy Spanish siestas and the scenic splendour of Lanzarote.

If you are going to embark on a holiday to the beautiful island, make a stop at one of the beaches dotted around the rugged coastline with their bleached white sands. For the culture vultures, there is an array of museums to visit including the fascinating and child-friendly Whales and Dolphins museum in Puerto Calero. The nightlife is thriving and has a lot to offer, including all the bars and restaurants that you would expect to see.
