Am I Able To Get Disability Assistance At JFK Airport?

Yes. Like many major airports around the world, JFK is well-equipped with a range of specialised facilities and services to make the disabled traveller's journey as smooth as possible.

Skycaps porters are available throughout the airport to help travellers with their luggage and to push wheelchairs as needed. Their meeting points, situated at all 8 of JFK International's terminals, are covered to protect passengers from the rainy weather.

JFK International also makes use of wheelchair accessible plane mates or mobile lounges to transport passengers to and from the arriving and departing aircraft. On board these plane mates, you can find easily accessible seats reserved especially for the disabled traveller.

Parking spots closest to the entrance of all terminals are reserved for disabled travellers, making access to the terminal easier and more convenient.

Travellers Aid facilities are also located in the arrivals area of Terminal 6 to provide added assistance to passengers in need. There are also traveller volunteers located in Terminals 1, 3, 7 and 8, who will assist you in a variety of situations. This includes assisting those who need to make connecting flights, providing information or directions to passengers, and offering general airport guidance.
