Am I Able To Get Disability Assistance At Zurich Airport?
Yes. Like most major airports in the world, Zurich International has the necessary resources to accommodate the special needs of disabled travellers. Should you require any special assistance, we suggest that you inform your travel agent or airline of your needs at least 48 hours before your arrival at the airport.
All disabled assistance at Zurich Airport is handled by Careport at no extra charge to you. They'll help you with checking in your luggage, passport control, and customs and security control. When you land, they will also assist you with collecting your luggage and the transportation of your wheelchair or the handling of your guide dog.
Disabled Services At Zurich International Airport
Disabled parking is available at the airport's P1, P2 and P3 car parks. You will need to have a valid permit to use these parking spots and can also request special permission to park on the curb to make getting into and out of your car easier.
Airport commuters using the airport train or bus services will find that access routes to and from the stations to the check-in counter are disabled-traveller-friendly.
Porters are also available to help you with your luggage. Find their number displayed on signs along the curbside or at the railway stations. This is a charged service available from 5.15am to 11pm.
Please note:
Passengers using a wheelchair will be searched by security in a separate booth for added privacy. If you are carrying any medications, medical devices or special aids like prosthetics, you will need to have a medical note written by your physician.
Those needing assistance to and from airplanes will need to notify their airline and their travel agent of this 48 hours before departure. Careport will then arrange for assistance that should reach you within just 10 minutes.
